

We just stand there for a second, rubbing our heads and feeling slightly stupid. Maybe sometimes our timing is slightly off, and we nick the tops of our heads on the doorframe. We just instinctively duck our heads slightly and pass through unscathed. For those of us who happen to be height outliers, a Spider-Sense thing happens when we’re passing through doorways that are shorter than we are. It’s not really a problem, either, if you happen to be taller than 6-foot-8. For the average human being, this is not a problem. The average doorway is 6-feet, 8-inches high. And let’s say, additionally, that you’re 7 feet tall.

But let’s say that you’re walking along and talking to someone, or just listening to something on your phone, and you’re not fully aware of your environment. Someone has helpfully painted a yellow-and-black “Caution” sign on that overhang, to let you know that it’s a low-bridge situation. Much cheaper than a motorhome.In the Atlantic Avenue subway stop, in downtown Brooklyn, there’s a hallway with a concrete overhang that’s maybe 6 feet, 3 inches off the ground. I take all gas cans and bikes out when I sleep in it. 3 cots, portable toilet, Olympia Wave propane heater, propane shower, power washer, air compressor, microwave, small fridge, toaster, coffeemaker, fan, E-Z-UP shelter, folding chairs make it comfortable to be away for a few days and it's fairly easy to set up. Installed 15K BTU roof mounted A/C, 2 Honda 2000 watt generators hooked up in parallel, wired interior with lights and outlets, 50 gallon water tank on tongue. Installed numerous D rings and Pingle wheelchocks (removable) on the floor, shelves and racks throughout for tools, parts, gear and stuff. I painted the floor with Duron paint mixed with skidtex, easy to touchup scratches and stains. Truck has built in brake controller, works excellent. Mine tows well with my F350 SRW with 6.0L diesel. Mine is a Pace, most brands are excellent, check for steel frame from floor to ceiling and plywood, not particle or chip board. Recommend 7'x14' dual axle with recessed wheels, flat tires on a single axle are hairy.
